ACL Office Coverage ACL provides services from 0830 to 1700 UK local time, on weekdays only (excluding public holidays).
ACL Out of Hours Coverage Outside normal office hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays), service is provided by the airport operator.

Please note – the Out of Hours service will only deal with short term ad-hoc schedule changes and new requests. All other changes must be submitted to ACL during normal office hours.

Local Guidelines  Article 8(5) of the slot Regulation enables additional rules and guidelines for the coordination of airports to be established by the air transport industry or the Coordination Committee to deal with specific scheduling problems and issues, provided such rules

  • do not affect the independence of the Coordinator
  • comply with Community law
  • Improve the efficient use of the airport.

At the airports served by ACL a number of Local Rules have been developed and agreed by the Coordination Committees to deal with specific scheduling issues.

Local Rule 1 Local Rule 1  –  The Coordination Committee at Gatwick has agreed a local rule to deal with the allocation and distribution of Night Movements and Night Noise Quota to comply with limitations on night operations set by the UK Government.
Local Rule 3 Local Rule 3  –  This guideline deals with the procedures for urgent or time-critical operations.
Local Rule 4 Local Rule 4  –  This guideline deals with the consequences of late hand-back of slots.
Local Rule 5 Local Rule 5  –  This guideline deals with the allocation of ad-hoc slots.
Local Rule 6 Local Rule 6  –  This Local Rule deals with secondary criteria for Initial Coordination
Local Rule A (Summer 2022) Local Rule A – Management of a Temporary Reduction in Capacity.

LGW Airport declared a reduced daily movement cap for the period 01JUL-31AUG 2022. The capacity declaration can be found here.

The results of the mandated capacity reduction process for the period 01JUL-31JUL can be found here.

A review of the 01AUG-31AUG reduced daily movement cap took place on 14 July 2022. Following the recent UK DfT S22 Slot Amnesty, all dates in August have reduced to be within the daily 850 movement limit and it was agreed that no further mandatory schedule reductions are required at the current time. All future slot requests for August will continue to be allocated subject to the 850 movement cap.

Sanction and Enforcement Codes
Coordination Committee A number of committees have been formed to deal with various scheduling and coordination Issues.

At Gatwick the major committees are the Coordination Committee and the Scheduling Committee.

Slot Performance Committee None.
