6th March 2026:
For Oman airports:
In Muscat, the airport has advised that with effect from 7th March no additional flights will be permitted except for embassy sponsored repatriation flights, subject to prior approval.
Duqm airport is closed until further notice. Suhar and Salalah are operating as normal.
5th March 2026:
Operations in the Middle East region remain severely impacted.
ACL’s policy on justified non-use of slots is in force, and flights cancelled because of closed or restricted airspace will qualify for alleviation from the utilisation criteria. Slot monitoring is suspended at affected airports.
For Dubai Airports, the schedule has been deleted until 15th March, with a review scheduled for 12th March. Capacity is slowly increasing but continues to be extremely limited. Manual slot coordination is in effect. Airlines are requested to submit requirements to ACL at slots@acl-international.com or via OCS, if they wish to operate up to 15th March.
For Abu Dhabi, airlines should contact the airport directly.
In Muscat, repatriation efforts are underway. Airlines not operating scheduled ser0
vices to Muscat or Salalah are requested to obtain slots via the handling agent (Transom). Duqm and Suhar airports are closed until further notice.
For Saudia Arabia airports, the airspace remains open and commercial flight operations continue. Normal processes for the coordination of short notice slot requests remain in place and will be approved subject to declared capacity constraints. For repatriation flight requests, additional approval from the Saudi authorities is required before slots will be confirmed.
There are some residual effects at airports outside the region due to aircraft being out of position. Please contact the applicable ACL team for more information.
2nd March 2026:
Following the United States and Israel launching strikes on Iran and the subsequent retaliatory action, operations in the region are severely impacted.
Flights cancelled at affected airports and the other end of route because of closed or restricted airspace will qualify for alleviation from the utilisation criteria. Schedule adjustments to cover changes in expected sector lengths should be advised to ACL in the normal way. Short term operational issues will be considered when assessing slot performance.
We will publish information relevant to ACL policies and processes to the website as the situation develops.
For Dubai Airports, ACL has been requested to clear the schedule for the period 01-05 March 2026. All flights removed from the schedule have been alleviated for the purposes of the utilisation calculation. Airlines are advised to follow communication from Dubai Airports in relation to when and how resumption of services will be implemented.
