Coordination Lead
Peter – Coordination Lead
Please describe your role in ACL.
“I’m currently a Coordination Lead responsible for managing ACL’s airports in Poland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Oman, Abu Dhabi in the UAE, and Luton in the UK. Together with four colleagues, we oversee all aspects of slot coordination and schedule facilitation, ensuring the most efficient use of limited capacity in line with industry rules and guidelines, delivered in a fair and transparent manner.”
What does a typical day look like to you?
“No two days are the same, and no two airports are the same either. Apart from the day-to-day coordination work, I’m dealing with internal and external customers (airlines’ scheduling teams, airports’ capacity teams, regulatory bodies, etc.), preparing reports and analysis on various subjects.”
What’s your favourite part about working here?
“Working for ACL sounds like a normal 9-to-5 office job, but in reality, it’s a unique place to work with great values and ethics, where everyone is encouraged to take on different responsibilities outside their regular daily jobs. I thoroughly enjoy working on different projects that improve the company’s efficiency and contribute to my development.”
Describe a memorable time at ACL
“I have been fortunate enough to take part in several exciting projects over the years, I learnt invaluable lessons working on the preparation of the Dubai International Airport’s runway rehabilitation project, assisted colleagues at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport throughout the complex process leading up to the opening of their new terminal, helping setting up our new office in Sydney. …and of course, who could forget the challenges we all faced during the pandemic. Of course there are many other unforgettable moments, from trips to conferences far away (seaplane tour over Vancouver springs to mind) to great company events (Ascot racecourse, Windsor Duck Tour, climbing the O2, treasure hunt in London), all memorable moments with great people around.”
Do you have any advice for a new starter?
“Don’t be afraid to ask questions and participate in as many projects as you can. Be patient with yourself, you are not expected to know everything by week 2…”
