Coordinator

Aditya – Coordinator

Please describe your role in ACL.

“Before joining ACL in 2025, I worked at DHL as a Turnaround Coordinator, supporting easyJet’s day-to-day flight operations and helping ensure safe, on-time departures. Alongside this, I completed my undergraduate degree in Business Leadership and Management.”

What does a typical day look like to you?

“In my previous role, I gained broad exposure to airport operations from check-in through to ramp and dispatch which helped me build a strong operational foundation. I wanted to progress my career in aviation and had been following ACL for a while. I was particularly intrigued by the slot coordination process, so when the opportunity came up, I applied.”

Describe the first few weeks since you joined the company.

“The first few weeks have been busy in the best way: structured training, lots of learning, and plenty of support from the team. I’ve been introduced to slot coordination, the WASG Chapter 6 principles, and the range of airports and airlines we work with. It’s been really interesting to see how unique each airport is and how coordination works in practice.”

What did you enjoy the most from the initial training?

“I enjoyed how practical and well-organised the training was. It connected the “why” behind slot coordination with the real-world processes, and it was great learning from experienced colleagues who were always happy to answer questions. I also had the opportunity to visit Heathrow early on, which was a brilliant way to see an airport from a coordinator’s perspective.”

What are you enjoying the most so far?

“I’m enjoying learning the concepts in depth, the volume ACL handles and the way the work is managed is genuinely impressive. It motivates me to keep learning and ask better questions, and my colleagues are always willing to talk things through and help me understand the details.”

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about applying for a coordinator role?

“You don’t need to know everything about slots and coordination before you start. Be curious, be ready to learn, and don’t be afraid to ask questions, there’s a lot of detail, but you’re supported throughout, and people are always happy to help.”

Anything else you’d like to add?

“What stands out most is the culture. People are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely supportive. If you enjoy aviation and like solving problems with a mix of teamwork and attention to detail, it’s a great place to be.”
