Local Guidelines
Article 8(5) of the slot Regulation enables additional rules and guidelines for the coordination of airports to be established by the air transport industry, or local guidelines to be established by the Coordination Committee, to deal with specific scheduling problems and issues, provided such rules

  • do not affect the independence of the Coordinator
  • comply with Community law
  • improve the efficient use of the airport.

At the airports served by ACL a number of Local Guidelines have been developed and agreed by the Coordination Committees to deal with specific scheduling issues.

The objective of the Birmingham Local Guideline is to assist the Coordinator in seeking voluntary schedule adjustments by airlines to reduce operational delays and ensure the effective facilitation of airport schedules.

A copy of this guideline is available in the Reference Library.

Airport Committees
A number of committees have been formed to deal with various scheduling and coordination Issues.

The Constitutions, Terms of Reference and, in some cases, Minutes of some of these committees are available in the ACL Reference Library.

At Birmingham the major committee is the Scheduling Committee.
